It's "Free Food Friday" at Action News 5. We teamed up with the Midtown Lennys and Curbside Casseroles in east Memphis to raise money for the Mid-South Food Bank.

What will your office do to raise money for the Mid-South Food Bank?

On "Free Food Friday",  we ask our staff to join us for a FREE lunch in exhange for a donation to the Mid-South Food Bank.  It's the second year for the fundraiser at Action News 5.  Staffers were treated to turkey, ham, dressing, green breans, pyramid potatoes, salad, pecan pie, apple pie and much more from Curbside Casseroles Lennys provided turkey, ham, tuna and even chicken salad sandwiches with all the fixin's, chips, cookies and drinks.  The food was delicious!

UPDATE: Former student arrested after threatening Millington Central High

(WMC-TV) - Millington Central High School was placed on lock down Monday after former student posted a threat on Facebook.

After a brief search, Jamal Smith, 19, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of making threats.

Early Monday morning, Smith wrote a series of threatening posts on his Facebook wall. In one post, Smith wrote, "I think I'm gonna take my rampage out on millington high school cause that's where I got most people who didn't like me in my whole career of school," he wrote.

Huffman honored for years of service to Millington citizens

Jack Huffman, City of Millington Public Works director, was recently honored at the annual conference of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association. The award was given in recognition of extraordinary and faithful service to the Citizens of Millington, Tennessee as the Public Works Director since January 1, 1963.

"I was shocked to be recognized by my peers from across the state. This is one of the best honors I've received working for the City of Millington," said Huffman. When asked, what has motivated him to serve citizens of Millington for the past 49 years, Huffman responded, "I love being able to help people and making Millington a better place to live and raise a family."

Memphis FBI office gets new leader

Aaron T. Ford, an inspector at FBI headquarters, who has a law degree from Rutgers, has been named special agent in charge of the FBI’s Memphis Division.

Ford replaces Amy Hess, who was promoted to the FBI's Washington headquarters after serving about 16 months in the position.

As inspector, Ford oversaw field office and headquaters inspections, shooting incident review teams, audits, and special inquiries.
