Principal Detris Crane was honored to have her school recognized this month with Incredible Pizza's “VIP” award.
Lucy ranked number one in attendance out of all local schools that participated in Incredible Pizza's recent Educator Night. Detris encouraged her staff to take part in the fun night as a way to "wind down" with co-workers and families.
As a VIP winner, the school will receive benefits throughout the year, like free family packs, an appearance by the “Incredibilizer” at a school assembly and a free pizza party for teachers.
Students also honored members of the military on November 10.
Local veterans visited classrooms and had lunch with students, and the kids created a poster with the names of service men and women who are serving now or have in the past.
Classes also participated in a writing contest, answering the question, “What Does Veterans Day Mean to Me?” Winners in the contest were Aniyah Torian, Jasmine Essary and Luis Gonzales.
