Wheelin' & Dealin' at the Derby

Memphis Roller Derby is back in action at the Fairgrounds Pipkin Building with a College Night doubleheader on Saturday, February 18th.

The all-women's league flies around a flat track in a fast & furious (and sometimes very physical!) competition.

It's a battle for regional pride as the Memphis Hustlin' Rollers, led by controversial but inspirational  Head Coach Sgt. Red, challenge the Oklahoma Victory Dolls.

Fans get a treat as an intra-league contest follows the opener.

The first bout starts at 6:00 p.m.  For ticket info & more, check out the Memphis Roller Derby Website

Mirimichi makes headlines again

Mirimichi makes headlines again

It’s been a good week for Mirimichi. First, the course gets named as one of the “Top 12 Golf Values” by Forbes Magazine:

Mirimichi Memphis, TN It’s a travel combo that is hard to beat: world-class barbecue, world-class blues, and world-class golf. The latter is a very recent addition to the Memphis tourist scene, compliments of native son and multi-platinum recording artist Justin Timberlake. After investing $16 million to revamp an existing area golf course and make it the local must-play – and one of the world’s most environmentally friendly – he decided to charge just $59-$71 to play it. Move over Elvis.

Then, a Tribune Company travel writer echoed the sentiment with a recent article:
