On Friday, November 18, the contractor is planning to direct traffic onto the newly paved portions of Veterans Parkway and Church Street, that is, just south of the RR tracks on Church Street. The plan is to shift the traffic from the southbound lanes of Raleigh-Millington (Church St) over to the northbound lanes. The traffic will remain two-way, but just shifting from the western lanes and bridge over to the eastern lanes and bridge. The Car Care Council recommended now that daylight-saving time is over, consumers should inspect their headlights, taillights and windshield wipers.

“Lights and wipers play a critical role in safe driving, as the chance of an accident increases if you can’t see or be seen,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “From the driver’s seat you may not notice a light that isn’t working, so inspect all of your car’s lights and replace those that are out. Also, inspect and replace wiper blades so you can see clearly when wet weather hits.”

The council's tips: 

Wash it. Change the oil. Common sense.

So common, car care is often the last thing Labor Day travelers think about before they hit the road. That is, if they remember at all.
