Public meetings scheduled for new bridge project
The Tennessee Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization will conduct six public meetings in late March and early April 2011 to discuss the Southern Gateway transportation project.
The Southern Gateway (previously known as the third Mississippi River Bridge project) consists of an overall plan for improving cross-river travel for people and freight, for better connections through Memphis to the tri-state region and the nation at large.
